Here are the Fresno Events (and Clovis) that we've are aware of. We do have our favorites...namely the Mardi Gras Parade, Clovis Big Hat Days, Clovis Rodeo, Jamaican Weekend (we'll be jammin?) and the Christmas Tree Lane.We also love the Friday night Farmer's market. it's a fantastic way to enjoy Friday evenings in the summer...taste the fruits in season, smell the fragrant flowers, enjoy live entertainment...ahhh...

January

- Mardi Gras at the Tower District. February 06, 2005. 1PM. Parade will be on Olive Avenue, from Fruit to Wishon. For more info, please call 559.497.8362. You can hang out in the Tower restaurants after the parade to watch the Superbowl.

- Spring Blossom Festival and Fresno Bonsai Society Spring Show
Celebrate the start of spring at this Fresno event. See the blooms at the garden. The Bonsai show will be held in conjunction with the Spring Blossom Festival. This is an opportunity to view over 100 specimens of beautiful and extraordinary Bonsai. Also enjoy educational demonstrations and sales.

- Fresno State Vintage Days - Vintage Days is planned and coordinated by Fresno State students. Vintage Days is a four-day celebration which attracts over 50,000 people from Fresno and the surrounding communities to the Fresno State campus.
The annual Fresno event combines numerous social, cultural and recreational activities into a series of coordinated programs over an extended weekend. Fresno State.

- Fresno Earth Day - Fresno Earth Day is a community-sponsored event that takes place annually in April. The objective of the event is to promote environmental education and awareness, local arts and music in the Central Valley of California. April 24, 2005 at Avocado Lake Park. This park is 23 miles east of Fresno. Directions: Take Highway 180 (17.5 miles) to Piedra Road. Turn left on Piedra Road and drive 5.1 miles to the entrance of Avocado Lake on the left.
- Taste of the Tower - April 28, 2005. it will offer nearly 40 different food tasting/sampling locations throughout the Tower District. Attendees will enjoy food samples and refreshments from Fresno's finest restaurants. Live music.

- Fresno and Central Valley's 15th Annual Lesbian & Gay Pride Parade & Festival. Saturday, June 4th, 2005. Parade starts at Olive & Palm at 10am and end at Olive & Maroa.
- Woodward Pop Festival. The concert provides music from the past with some local bands and will benefit the United Cerebral Palsy of Central California. Saturday June 4th from 3.30pm to 9.30pm. At the group activity area, next to Shinzen Garden in Woodward Park. Ticket costs $15 at the door.
- Riverbend Smooth Jazz Festival. Saturday June 11th at Combs Riverbend Ranch, located on Avenue 12, east of Highway 41 adjacent to the Riverbend Golf Club in Madera.
Tickets are available at Borders Bookstore in Riverpark, $35 for lawn sitting and $45 for seating closest to main stage. Gate opens at 2pm and music from 3 to 10 pm.
- Survivor and Amazing Race Audition. OK, probably not an annual event but here's your chance to be part of those 2 popular reality shows. The shows are looking for contestants for the next season here in Fresno! Be there - June 14th at the Villagio Shopping center (SW corner of Nees and Blackstone).
- KJWL Father's Day Fly-In.At the Chandler Executive Airport in downtown Fresno. Saturday, June 18th, gates open 7 a.m., show 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $10 per person, and kids 6 and under are free.
- Fresno Polynesian night luau. Charity event benefitting Central California Toys-4-Tots. Saturday June 18th at 6pm. Will be held at the Group Activity area next to Shinzen Gardens in Woodward Park.
Tickets are $35 for general sitting and $50 for VIP preferred sitting. Call 559.292.1981 for tickets.
- Safari Night 2005. Entertainment featuring the Beatles tribute band- Rain and the Joe Lenigan Little Big Band. Saturday June 25th at the Chaffee Zoo. - Civil War Reenactment at Kearney Park
- Clovisfest/Hot Air Balloon Rally -- On the mornings of the last full weekend in September. Get up early to see two dozen or so hot air balloons get ready to float in the Valley sky.
ClovisFest festival is an old fashioned street fair for the young and old. Great live entertainment, craft and auto display, family carnival, game booths and food booths with multi-cultural cuisine.
- Fresno Reel Pride Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. This Fresno event consists of 5 days of the the very best in gay and lesbian features, documentaries and short films at the Tower Theatre.

- Newman's Center Renaissance Festival - A community fixture since the late 1960's, the annual Fresno event is held on the last weekend in October. For two days the grounds of the Newman Center (across from Bulldog Stadium) are transformed into a Renaissance style open-air market.
